Roadmap for this article

  1. Is it UNFAIR that this student loan debt relief won’t go to everyone carrying student debt or to those who have already paid off their own student loans?
  2. Is it DUMB to provide student loan debt relief before we fix the underlying problem of colleges and universities dramatically overcharging for the education they deliver?
  3. Should the same “hell yes, give it away!” standard apply to (1) student loan debt relief for 43 million Americans the way it does with (2) ANNUAL stock buyback tax money giveaways worth *far more money* going to only the most profitable corporations and The Top 1%?

Question #1: Is it UNFAIR that Biden’s plan won’t take care of everyone carrying student debt or those who have already paid off their own student loans?

It’s unfortunate, yes, but remember that we do spend tax money on things in the U.S. that only benefit certain parts of the population.

All. the. time.

So is it unfair if we’re spending money here that won’t go to people who paid off their loans last year or 10 years ago or who didn't take out loans at all because they had saved enough in advance of college?
